I did not set out to become an operations consultant. I set out to solve a problem.
I did not set out to become an operations consultant. I set out to solve a problem.
When I stepped into a bootstrapped, family-owned service business in 2014, I knew nothing about the industry. What I did know was how to look at a complicated situation, figure out what was actually breaking, and build something that held. The business had three people, no documented processes, and no operational foundation. Every decision lived in someone’s head. Nothing was repeatable. Nothing was built to scale.
So I built it anyway. With real money on the line and no safety net underneath me.
Over 11 years I learned things you cannot learn from a textbook or a consulting firm. I learned that systems do not fail because they are poorly designed. They fail because no one owns them after they are built. I learned that the founder is almost always the bottleneck, not because they are doing anything wrong, but because no one has ever built the structure that would let them step back. I learned that a business can triple its revenue and still feel like it is falling apart if the operational foundation underneath it cannot keep pace with the growth on top of it.
I also learned what it costs to make decisions when every dollar counts and there is no room to get it wrong. That experience is not something I take lightly. It is the reason I work exclusively with bootstrapped founders. I know the weight of what they are carrying. I know what it feels like when the business depends on you to hold everything together. And I know exactly what needs to be built so it does not have to anymore.
The Sunday Standard exists because I believe every founder deserves a business that runs with a real team behind it, not one that falls apart the moment they step away.
That is what I build. That is what I know. And it is built from the inside out.
